Should I Get That Advanced Degree to Increase My Earnings?

This is a question I hear all the time: Should I get that advanced degree (or that super-charged technical certification) in order to increase my net value in the marketplace?  The answer may not be obvious and it comes down to the difference between Tactical vs Strategic thinking.
